Square Enix has announced the closure of its Akihabara café, located in Tokyo, effective March 31, 2025. After more than eight years of operation since its opening in October 2016, the venue served as a hub for collaborative events and merchandise tied to the company’s popular franchises.
The café will continue hosting collaborations until its closure, with the current Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake event running through January 31, 2025. Details regarding its final collaboration will be revealed next week. In addition, the digital stamp card program will end on the same day as the café’s closure. Rewards can be redeemed at the café until March 31, 2025, and afterward at Honey Toast Café Akihabara from April 1 to May 6, 2025.

Taito Corporation, which manages the Akihabara café, will renovate the space to establish a dedicated area for official Square Enix merchandise. Further details on this development will be announced by Taito after renovations are completed.
Square Enix emphasized that other locations will remain unaffected. The ARTNIA café and merchandise shop in Higashi-Shinjuku continues to operate, alongside the recently opened Square Enix Garden store in Shibuya.
