Bug in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Halts Platinum Trophy Progress

Updated: Apr 5

Update 04.04.2024:

Square Enix has acknowledged the issue and a fix is planned for the next patch:

Some Final Fantasy VII Rebirth players are facing a frustrating roadblock. A recent update, patch 1.020, has introduced a bug that prevents players from achieving the platinum trophy. This bug specifically affects the completion of the side quest "Can't Stop, Won't Stop," making it impossible for players to earn the platinum trophy, which requires completing all quests and side quests in the game.

The issue arises during the G-Bike minigame section of the quest, where players are unable to progress even after achieving high scores. Numerous players have voiced their frustrations on online forums, with some describing it as the last obstacle before completing their playthrough.

While there are reported workarounds for players with physical copies of the game, such as uninstalling and reinstalling from a disc, digital owners have no immediate solution other than waiting for a fix from Square Enix.

The bug was first noticed after the release of patch 1.020 on March 20, 2024, and has since caused inconvenience for many players attempting to achieve full completion. Despite various attempts by players to find solutions, the issue persists, leaving digital owners in limbo until a patch is released.
