Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion saw a significant boost in its player base after being added to PS Plus Extra in July 2024. The game's PS4 and PS5 player count surged by 1171% after its inclusion in the Game Catalog on July 16, 2024.
This sharp increase was tracked using gameplay data from over 3.1 million active PSN accounts. By the end of the first week on PS Plus Extra, which concluded on July 21, 2024, the player count for Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion had increased significantly.
Despite having 61% fewer players than Remnant 2, another title added to PS Plus Extra in July 2024, Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion secured the second spot among new releases on the platform. Impressively, the game regained 37.31% of its initial launch week player count, showing a strong renewal of player interest.
Originally, Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion debuted at #20 on the weekly PlayStation Chart in December 2022. After being featured on PS Plus Extra, the game jumped from #577 to #57 on the chart. This resurgence is partly due to the recent release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which has significant ties to Crisis Core.
