The release of the PlayStation 5 Pro is set to bring major improvements to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, according to John Linneman from Digital Foundry. He described the performance and graphical differences between the standard PS5 and the PS5 Pro as "night and day."
Linneman noted that the game now runs at a stable 60fps on the PS5 Pro, thanks to the integration of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This AI-based technology enhances image quality, producing clearer textures and eliminating the blurriness seen in the PS5’s performance mode. He emphasized that the PS5 Pro delivers noticeably sharper visuals compared to both the performance and fidelity modes on the base PS5, all while maintaining a solid frame rate.
The improved hardware of the PS5 Pro offers a smoother and more visually impressive experience, addressing the visual quality issues present on the original PS5. Linneman pointed out that these upgrades make the game feel like a different experience on the new console.
However, the question remains whether these improvements alone justify the cost of upgrading. Still, for those aiming to get the best possible experience with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the PS5 Pro may be worth considering.
