Final Fantasy IX Remake and Final Fantasy XVI (PC) Listed in Epic Games Database

A recent leak from the Epic Games database has listed a Final Fantasy IX remake, sparking excitement among fans once again. This follows a series of leaks over the past few months suggesting the game's development. The database includes references to several unannounced games, including what seems to be a remake of Final Fantasy IX.

Under the codename "Momo," the database lists several items that point directly to Final Fantasy IX. These items include an "Early-Purchase Bonus Tetra Master Starter Pack," a "Pre-Order Bonus Thief's Knives," and a "Cuisine Set" - all clear nods to elements from the original Final Fantasy IX.

Additionally, the database lists the codename "Skobeloff," which has been confirmed to reference Final Fantasy XVI. This aligns with the recent announcement that the latest main entry in the series will be coming to PC soon.

While Square Enix has yet to officially announce a Final Fantasy IX remake, the breadcrumbs left in the Epic Games database suggest that such a project is indeed in the works. Fans have long been clamoring for a modern-day revival of the 2000 PlayStation classic, and these leaks provide hope that their wishes may soon be granted.

With the database entries last updated in mid-2023, it's possible we could see more concrete details on both the Final Fantasy IX remake and Final Fantasy XVI in the coming months.
