In a recent interview with Game Informer, Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, shared some important details about the upcoming game. Notably, he confirmed the absence of snowboarding and mentioned slight changes to the CPR minigame. Additionally, Hamaguchi revealed that saved data transfer from the previous remake is limited to "certain portions."
Hamaguchi also shared that he drew inspiration from the Final Fantasy XIII titles for the Remake series, influencing its action ATB systems. He expressed admiration for Al-Cid Margrace from Final Fantasy XII as his favorite Cid and considers Setzer from Final Fantasy VI the franchise's "coolest" protagonist. Interestingly, Hamaguchi also expressed interest in remaking Final Fantasy VII Advent Children and revealed his fondness for The Witcher series.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, promoted as more ambitious than its predecessor, introduces new playable characters like Cait Sith, Red XIII, and also unveils Vincent and Cid. The Gold Saucer will serve as a prominent location featuring a variety of minigames.
