Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, will not feature any downloadable content (DLC), according to Tetsuya Nomura, the creative director of the game. This decision sets it apart from its predecessor, which included a DLC named INTERmission, offering additional depth to the narrative.
Vincent Valentine's story, an optional character from Final Fantasy VII, will not be explored through a DLC, a departure from the approach taken with INTERmission. This was confirmed by Nomura, who made this announcement in an exclusive interview with Vandal and El Español.
In the same interview, Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, shed light on the game's distinct approach. He revealed that the game's world will evolve dynamically as the story unfolds, allowing players to revisit previously explored areas at their convenience. Additionally, players can anticipate fresh side content and new narrative threads.
Hamaguchi, who assumed the directorial role for this installment in 2021, expressed his commitment to crafting a map experience that rivals, if not surpasses, that of the original Final Fantasy VII.
The decision to forgo DLCs in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth represents a departure from the earlier release, highlighting the unique direction that Square Enix is taking with the sequel.
