In a recent interview with onemoregame.ph, Naoki Hamaguchi, the Director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, shared that an update patch is in the works to enhance the visual quality in the game's performance mode. Many players have voiced their disappointment with the lower graphics quality in this mode. Hamaguchi acknowledged this feedback and assured fans that the patch's release date is approaching.
“We’ve received a lot of feedback on whether the graphics in the performance mode will be improved or not. We hear you, and we are currently working on an update patch to improve that aspect. I don’t think the release date would be far away from now.”
One of the main issues the patch aims to fix is the facial lighting, which can make character shadows appear scary in certain situations. Hamaguchi acknowledged this concern and mentioned that the development team is working on addressing it.
"We have heard from players that in certain situations, the facial lighting makes some character shadows look very scary. So that’s one part of the update that we are working on."
When asked about his preference between Graphics and Performance mode, Hamaguchi admitted that he enjoys playing games in graphics mode to appreciate better visuals.
Stay tuned for further updates on the patch's release date.
