Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Expansion Unveiled, Set to Launch Summer 2024, Coming also to Xbox

Square Enix and Creative Business Unit III have announced the next expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, called Dawntrail, which is set to release in the summer of 2024. The reveal took place during the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2023 in Las Vegas, where a trailer showcased the new tropical world of Yok Tural and familiar characters.

The expansion's logo, designed by Yoshitaka Amano, features the theme color gold. According to director Naoki Yoshida, Dawntrail will offer a different experience from the previous Endwalker expansion, with a brighter and lighter tone. It marks a new beginning for Final Fantasy XIV, focusing on a journey of discovery following the conclusion of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark storyline.

Players can look forward to exploring new areas like the hub city of Tuliyollal, the southern side of Yok Tural known as Urqopacha, and the forest of Yak T'el. Dawntrail also introduces new allied tribes, including the Pelupelu. Additionally, the player level cap will increase to 100, and two new DPS jobs will be added.

The new expansion will also bring a first graphical update, introducing improvements to texture resolutions and material qualities. Various system updates will be implemented as well.

Final Fantasy XIV is coming for Xbox Series X|S! Following an open beta test during Patch 6.5x, the official release will be in Spring 2024!

Square Enix has also revealed a collaboration between FFXIV and Fall Guys, set to launch during the Patch 6.5x series.
