Square Enix has announced the upcoming release of a benchmark tool for the FFXIV Dawntrail expansion. This tool will help players check if their PCs can handle the impressive graphics update coming in version 7.0.
The benchmark tool not only allows players to test their hardware's capabilities but also includes a character creation tool for the eagerly awaited female Hrothgar race. While the benchmark tool won't offer actual gameplay, it provides a glimpse into the graphical enhancements coming with the 7.0 update.
During the 80th live letter, Yoshida showcased the significant improvements, highlighting better textures for grassy and flower-filled areas. The 7.0 update will bring improved ground textures, shadows, and reflections. Yoshida mentioned,
“We’ve improved and changed the textures for every field from every expansion.”
Moreover, Super Resolution support will be available across all platforms, supporting AMD FSR 1.0 and Nvidia’s DLSS 2.0.
The Final Fantasy XIV benchmark for Dawntrail launches on April 14 at 12 AM (PT) / 3 AM (ET) / 7:00 (GMT) / 17:00 (AEST).
