Final Fantasy XIV Introduces Major Job Adjustments and New Content in Patch 7.05

Final Fantasy XIV has released Patch 7.05, introducing significant job adjustments and new content. The primary focus of the update is on rebalancing job DPS, with an emphasis on raising rather than lowering DPS across various roles.

Key changes have been made to multiple DPS classes to ensure balance. The Pictomancer, initially designed to have DPS comparable to melee jobs due to its long cast times and lack of combat revival abilities, was performing higher than expected. To address this, developers have increased the potency of actions for magical ranged DPS jobs, ensuring no large disparities exist between jobs.

The Black Mage has seen several adjustments, including increased potency for multiple actions. The effect of Umbral Soul has been changed to assist with maintaining Umbral Ice and MP recovery, while Paradox can now be used even when Umbral Ice is active.

Viper's unique combo system has been simplified by replacing the Noxious Gnash effect with self-applied buffs, Honed Steel and Honed Reavers, allowing for greater flexibility in gameplay. Meanwhile, the Samurai job has had its trait Enhanced Iaijutsu altered, and the ability Tsubame-gaeshi is now more accessible within skill rotations, resulting in an overall increase in DPS despite some potency reductions.

The patch also introduces the first tier of The Arcadion (Savage) raids, offering a more challenging experience compared to the normal mode. Additionally, players can explore the new treasure dungeon, Cenote Ja Ja Gural, which operates similarly to the Excitatron 6000, featuring a series of combat chambers with doors that unlock based on luck.

Tomestones of Heliometry, the new weekly capped currency, are now available for obtaining high-level gear. This currency can be earned through various duties, including Expert, Leveling, and Trials roulettes.

In response to player feedback, developers are committed to ongoing monitoring and adjustments. The team will continue to evaluate job performance and balance, particularly concerning the differences between magical ranged DPS jobs with and without revival abilities and the overall balance between melee and ranged jobs.

Notably, the community has had mixed reactions to the Viper changes, with some players expressing dissatisfaction. However, the development team remains attentive to player feedback and is open to further adjustments based on community input.
