Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV patch 7.2, titled "Seekers of Eternity", will be released in late March. The details were revealed during Live Letter LXXXV by game director Naoki Yoshida and community producer Toshio Murouchi. The update will continue the Dawntrail storyline and introduce new dungeons, trials, and large-scale multiplayer content.
The patch expands both story and battle content, including the return of Inspector Hildibrand and the Mamool Ja as a new allied society offering gatherer quests. Players will also experience the continuation of the Cornservant questline, which originally began in Tuliyollal.
A new dungeon, The Underkeep, is inspired by Final Fantasy IX’s Alexandria. The new trial, "Recollection," features a robotic version of FFIX’s Beatrix, available in both normal and extreme difficulties.
The Arcadion raid series continues with the Cruiserweight Tier, featuring a stylish, disco-themed arena.
The Unreal trial, Hell’s Kier (Unreal), brings back Suzaku from Stormblood in a rebalanced challenge.
Patch 7.2 introduces Cosmic Exploration, a server-wide crafting and gathering event where players will explore space with the assistance of Loporrits.
For combat players, Occult Crescent serves as a successor to Eureka and Bozja. The zone is inspired by the Bermuda Triangle and requires a level 100 combat job. Players will explore the Shades’ Triangle, increasing their Knowledge Level to influence battle outcomes. The area will support open-world encounters, large-scale boss battles, and a 48-player raid.
A new weapon enhancement system will also be introduced.
The PvP Season 8 update will feature new actions and adjustments. The Frontline’s "Secure" map returns with improvements.
A camera-themed emote will be added in patch 7.18 as part of the Instax collaboration, and the Echoes of Vana’diel campaign will offer FFXIV subscribers a 30-day FFXI discount.
