Final Fantasy XIV's latest expansion, Dawntrail, has hit a new peak in concurrent players across all platforms, achieving the highest numbers since the A Realm Reborn update in 2013. This significant milestone was announced by Naoki Yoshida on the official Final Fantasy XIV blog. The impressive surge in player numbers is partly due to the game's recent launch on Xbox.
Yoshida expressed gratitude to the community for their support, stating:
“With your support, we were able to reach a record number of concurrent users we’ve not seen since the release of A Realm Reborn in 2013.”
Despite some technical issues and mixed reviews on Steam, the expansion's success in attracting a large player base underscores its impact on the gaming community.
The record-breaking player count shows the strong connection between Final Fantasy XIV and its community, as well as the game's ability to attract and keep a growing player base. The development team is working hard to address the launch issues, with promised fixes in upcoming updates.
