Final Fantasy XIV Update 6.5 "Growing Light" Brings New Content and Improvements


Square Enix recently shared new details about the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.5, titled "Growing Light," during the 78th Letter from the Producer Live event. This update will bridge the events of Endwalker and the upcoming expansion, Dawntrail.

The update is divided into two parts, with Part 1 set to launch in early October 2023, and Part 2 following in Mid-January 2024. Producer Naoki Yoshida mentioned that Patch 6.5 lays the groundwork for the events leading up to the story of Dawntrail. Players will also have the chance to meet Ryne, a beloved character from the Shadowbringers expansion, making the journey even more exciting.

Here's a summary of the key content and improvements included in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.5:


Main Scenario: The update will feature a two-part main scenario, with Part 1 releasing in early October 2023 and Part 2 in mid-January 2024. Part 1 will see Zero encountering Ryne in the First.


Endwalker Tribal Alliance Quests: In update 6.55, players will engage in Tribal Alliance Quests that require completing the Arkasodara, Omicron, and Loporrit quests.

Continued Adventure: Tataru's Grand Endeavor and Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventure will continue in update 6.55.


New Content: The update brings exciting additions like Further Manderville Weapons and another stage for More Splendorous Tools.


Challenging Trials: Players will face The Abyssal Fracture and its Extreme version in new trials. Additionally, a new Unreal trial, The Singularity Reactor, awaits.


Alliance Raid: The Myths of the Realm Part 3: Thaleia, will take players on an epic adventure.

System Updates: Duty Support will be available for The Drowned City of Skalla, The Burn, and Ghimlyt Dark dungeons. Also, the Aloalo Island will feature a new Variant & Criterion Dungeon with different difficulty levels.

PvP Series: PvP enthusiasts can look forward to Series Five, which runs from 6.48 on August 8 until Patch 6.51.

Quality of Life Enhancements: Several improvements include a consecutive aetherial reduction feature for collectibles, green dot indicators for newly logged fish, the option to store optional items in the armoire, and the ability to sort teleport destinations by expansion.


Rewarding Achievements: Players completing all trial mounts in the 6.X series will be rewarded with a new achievement.


Beyond the gameplay updates, the Fall Guys Collaboration is coming to the Gold Saucer and new Custom Deliveries featuring Margrat are being added.
