Yesterday, Final Fantasy XVI unexpectedly appeared on Sony’s PS Plus Premium subscription service, surprising many subscribers. The game became available for download and streaming without any prior announcement from Sony or Square Enix, leading to speculation among fans. The incident quickly gained traction on social media, with mentions from notable accounts like Wario64. However, by the following day, the listing was removed, and access to the game was revoked.
Some users who managed to download the game before its removal reported that they can keep playing it by disconnecting their internet, which prevents Sony from updating the game’s PS Plus license.
This brief availability has fueled speculation that Final Fantasy XVI might soon be officially included in the PS Plus lineup. While many believe the game’s appearance was a glitch, the potential for its future inclusion remains.
