New information about the characters in Final Fantasy XVI has been revealed by Square Enix in the recently released FFXVI Ultimania book in Japan. @aitaikimochi, owner of Aitai Kuji, shared some of the intriguing details from the guidebook via Twitter. The book discloses the ages of several characters, giving fans a deeper insight into the characters' timelines and evolution within the game.

The characters' ages span from 28 to 70 after the time skip, though it's unclear whether Hugo's age in the FFXIV Ultimania pertains to the pre- or post-timeskip period.
Here is the list:
- Barnabas Tharmr: 65 pre-time skip, 70 post-time skip
- Benedikta Harman: 28
- Cid Telamon: 44
- Dion Lesage: 10 initially, 23 after the first time skip, and 28 after the second one.
- Joshua Rosfield: 10 initially, 23 after the first time skip, and 28 after the second one.
- Hugo Kupka: 38 (Possibly pre-time skip, making him 43 after the time skip.)
- Sleipnir Harbard: 47 pre-time skip, 52 post-time skip
- Terence: 10 initially, 23 after the first time skip, and 28 after the second one.
Clive starts at 15 years old, then advances to 28 after the first time skip, and finally reaches 33 after the second one. Jill is estimated to be around 12 when initially introduced, followed by 25 after the first temporal leap, and finally, 30 after the second.
