Yoshitaka Amano will hold his largest official western exhibition, titled Amano Corpus Animae, from November 13, 2024, to March 1, 2025, at Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, Italy. This exhibition, organized by Lucca Comics & Games, will feature over 130 artworks spanning Amano's extensive career, including pieces from his early days in animation, comic illustrations, and his iconic contributions to video games, particularly the Final Fantasy series.
The exhibition will be divided into distinct sections showcasing different facets of Amano's work. Visitors can explore his illustrations from the Tatsunoko period, iconic comic book covers like Batman and Superman, his influential video game artwork, and his fine art productions.
An exclusive Kickstarter campaign was launched to support this milestone event. The campaign, which began on July 19, 2024, quickly surpassed its initial €50,000 goal within just three hours. It offers fans a unique opportunity to acquire exclusive merchandise, such as limited edition art prints, special miniatures, silk scarves, and more. A notable highlight of the campaign was the opportunity for a limited number of backers to participate in a personal tour of the exhibition with Yoshitaka Amano for a pledge of €499.
The exhibition coincides with the Lucca Comics & Games festival, scheduled from October 30 to November 3, 2024. This festival will provide additional opportunities for fans to engage with Amano's work and the broader culture of Japanese art and entertainment.
