Wizards of the Coast, the company behind Magic: The Gathering, has announced a collaboration with Final Fantasy. The crossover is set to include all the mainline games from the Final Fantasy franchise, spanning over 35 years.
The idea of Magic: The Gathering and Final Fantasy coming together was first revealed last year as part of Wizards of the Coast's ongoing series of pop-culture crossovers called "Universes Beyond." Originally slated for a 2024 release, the Final Fantasy set will now launch in 2025.
The upcoming Final Fantasy set will be a significant release, referred to as a "tentpole booster release." It will include booster packs catering to both traditional tabletop MTG and the digital app MTG Arena.
