Naoki Hamaguchi hinted at Square Enix's considerations for expanding the availability of Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy to a broader audience. In an interview with GamesRadar+, Hamaguchi shared the team's goal of allowing more players to experience these iconic titles.
"In terms of Final Fantasy VII, there's nothing really we can say at the moment, but certainly I do want to bring Final Fantasy VII and the Remake series to as many players out there as possible."
This perspective aligns with the industry’s growing focus on multiplatform gaming. Reflecting on these changes, Hamaguchi remarked:
"It really is a change in the industry, and I think certainly we're feeling right now that the industry has changed in terms of there being so many different platforms and environments that people play games on these days."
Square Enix CEO Takashi Kiryu's decision to embrace multiplatform development underscores this transformation.
"It's so much more diversified now, so I think that's probably why our CEO... made that decision to move more in the direction of multiplatform – that's just the way that the industry is going."
On a personal note, Hamaguchi revealed his fondness for Microsoft's console.
"I've got an Xbox myself. I think it's a great hardware platform. I do like Xbox."
While no specific plans were confirmed, Hamaguchi's remarks suggest that Square Enix is seriously considering future strategies to make their games, including the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, more accessible.
