Naoki Yoshida Eager to Direct Another Major Title

Naoki Yoshida has recently revealed his keenness to take on the role of director for another major title within Square Enix. In a recent interview with Famitsu, Yoshida expressed his desire to direct the next major project if given the opportunity. While the specific title remains undecided, Yoshida emphasized the importance of not setting limits or ceilings for oneself, as it could potentially hinder growth and lead to unfavorable perceptions. He highlighted the need for continuous challenges and the excitement of venturing into the unknown.

"It's completely undecided as of now, but if the opportunity arises to work on the next major title, I would like to direct it myself!"

Yoshida drew a parallel between his passion for snowboarding and his approach to his career, stating that he still feels he can achieve even greater things. He firmly believes that by not restricting oneself, unexpected accomplishments can be attained. He expressed his optimism for taking unprecedented leaps and achieving remarkable success in the future.

"I honestly think I'm at my peak at the moment, no joke! I feel like I can still push even further, so in lieu of that, I haven't set a cap for myself."

Despite previously advocating for new directors to lead future installments of the Final Fantasy series, Yoshida's interest in directing another major title demonstrates his unwavering passion for creating exceptional gaming experiences. Although his involvement in Final Fantasy XVI and its upcoming DLC, "The Rising Tide," is extensive, Yoshida remains open to new challenges and opportunities.
