Naoki Yoshida: "The Possibility of More DLC Is Not Zero"

Contrary to initial plans, Final Fantasy XVI will be receiving two DLC expansions. The first expansion, "Echoes of the Fallen," which focuses on combat, was released in December of last year. The second expansion, titled "The Rising Tide," will delve into the story of the Leviathan Eikon, previously absent from the main game and is planned for this spring.

In a recent interview with Game Informer, Naoki Yoshida acknowledged the positive feedback from fans and their enthusiasm for the game, which led to the consideration of the two additional DLCs. While uncertain about future plans, Yoshida did not dismiss the possibility of more expansions, stating:

"My honest answer is, 'I don't know at the moment,' but at the same time, the possibility isn't entirely zero. I don't want to bar out any real possibilities at this time."

The development team, known as Creative Business Unit III, aims to leverage the experience and knowledge gained from Final Fantasy XVI for future projects. Yoshida expressed the team's desire to take on new challenges and explore different forms of entertainment. While a new project may be on the horizon, the potential for further DLC content remains.
