Patch 7.1 for Final Fantasy XIV, titled "Crossroads," is set for release in mid-November 2024, offering a significant expansion of the game's content. The patch will build on the Dawntrail expansion by introducing a variety of new activities, including new quests, a dungeon, and raids.
The Main Scenario Quest will explore the story of Zoraal Ja, delving into his relationship with his son. Additionally, players can expect new Allied Society quests focused on a Pelupelu trader, which, according to Yoshi-P, will help players in leveling their combat jobs to 100. For those involved in crafting and gathering, new Custom Deliveries quests will feature Nitowikwe, a new character introduced in Dawntrail.
One of the most notable features is the introduction of Chaotic Alliance Raids, a new raid difficulty designed to offer a challenge between Extreme and Savage levels. The first raid in this series is "The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic)," a revamped encounter with new mechanics and unique rewards.
Further content includes a new Ultimate Trial, "Futures Rewritten (Ultimate)," based on the Shadowbringers Eden raid series. There’s also an Unreal Trial, "The Jade Stoa," where players will face Byakko once again. Additionally, the Alliance Raid Series will begin with "Jeuno: The First Walk," which draws inspiration from Final Fantasy XI, with familiar locations re-imagined by the original artists.
Beyond combat, the patch will bring updates to the Housing system, allowing greater flexibility in interior design, and improvements to the Hall of the Novice, with new lessons aimed at preparing players for advanced raid mechanics.
