Square Enix Implements Restrictions on Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis VPN Access

In a recent update, the official Japanese social media account for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis announced that Square Enix will be prohibiting access to the game’s servers via VPN (virtual private network). This decision comes as a response to a significant number of unauthorized accounts gaining access to the Japanese servers, a clear violation of the game’s terms of service.

According to Square Enix, connecting to the service using a third party’s server is expressly prohibited by the game’s Terms of Service. Consequently, this restriction means that players outside of Japan will no longer be able to access the Japanese game servers unless they are physically present in the country. Additionally, players are advised to engage with the game exclusively in their respective countries.

While the official English account has yet to make a statement regarding VPN usage in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, it is conceivable that this restriction may extend worldwide.
