Two of a Kind: Final Fantasy VII LEGO Set Sold for $12,500 at Auction

The Final Fantasy VII LEGO set featuring the iconic church scene between Cloud and Aerith was recently sold at auction for €11,500 ($12,500). This LEGO diorama, measuring 105 cm tall, 73 cm wide, and 51 cm deep, captures the beloved moment from the game where Cloud first meets Aerith and helps her escape from the Turks. The scene includes details like stained-glass windows, gothic columns, and scattered flower petals.

The LEGO set was part of a limited promotion tied to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. In 2023, fans voted on which scene from Final Fantasy VII Remake should be turned into a LEGO model. The church scene won, and Square Enix produced only two sets for a social media giveaway.

One of these sets recently appeared at Heritage Auctions, where it was sold for an impressive €11,500. The other set remains in Square Enix's possession, as seen in their London office in January 2024, when it was shown on X/Twitter by Final Fantasy game director Naoki Hamaguchi.

Despite the excitement surrounding this unique collectible, fans have long been calling for more Final Fantasy LEGO collaborations. However, there are currently no plans for an official Final Fantasy LEGO series.
