Yoshi-P Apologizes for Dawntrail Issues, Promises Swift Resolutions

The much-anticipated expansion of Final Fantasy XIV, titled Dawntrail, has launched in early access with several significant issues, as acknowledged in a blog post by Naoki Yoshida. Addressing the community, Yoshida assured players that these issues are a high priority, and the development team is working hard to fix them.

One major problem affects the Xbox version of the game, where players experience unresponsiveness when transitioning between areas. Yoshida explained:

"Our preliminary investigation suggests that this issue is likely due to a phenomenon known as memory fragmentation."

A comprehensive investigation is underway, but rectifying this issue will require a patch that involves rigorous QA checks, expected to take several days. In the meantime, players are advised to use the Dynamis, Shadow, or Oceania data centers to mitigate the issue.

Another issue involves freezing mechanics in specific raids such as Dragonsong’s Reprise (Ultimate), Minstrel’s Ballad: Shinryu’s Domain, and Delubrum Reginae (Savage). These problems will also be addressed through a client patch. Additionally, there are issues with the display and animations of certain characters during emotes and the scholar action, Seraphism, attributed to incorrect values input during a graphical update.

The development team is considering the release of a hot fix to address these issues, likely accompanied by a brief maintenance period. Yoshida expressed sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused and appreciated the players' patience and understanding as they work to resolve these issues.
